B.M.A.L Base Mission Statement

"Our aim is to supply UK/Worldwide military spotters, photographers and most importantly reference books and sites. With up to date information regarding the current allocation and serials, markings and unit allocations of all the aircraft types currently being used by the British Armed Forces."

British Military Aviation List's is proud to bring you B.M.A.L Base

("Something not tried before?"... "well not like this anyway")

In February 2010 the planning to introduce a new database was looked at. After nearly a month of testing from March 2010 into April 2010 we got to bring our main goal a little closer and also move the website on a little more. On the 6th of April 2010 we lunched our own active and free to use database. Because of this we are now able to cover (" with the exception of the historic flights and U.A.V's " ) all the current types of aircraft being used by the British Armed Forces. Within the database you can accurately find and see information about one base, type or even operator of those aircraft fleets. Oh! and best of all its all 100% free!

B.M.A.L Information ("So how do we get the information and what do we do with?")

The information used in B.M.A.L Base is gathered from many UK sources, but in the main and most important one is the many users and posters on many of today's U.K military aviation groups and forums. This involves collecting information from logs and photographs posted over the internet and various spotting and email groups. This information is then entered into our main records, then either added to the database either via direct input through the web or via a file upload.

Team B.M.A.L (Who's Team?)

The British Military Aviation List's team is spread all over the U.K they are from all walks of life and this includes active service in some cases. The is only 3 main members that are responsible for the website and database these are Website and Database Admin, Fleet lists and News Admin and a Website Technical Admin. Between them they keep the website and database up to date and give there own free time to do so.

B.M.A.L Share ("How does B.M.A.L share with other publications and groups?")

As you might expect, we share information with and also work closely with a variety of group and main stream publications. Although not a complete list these include the following publications and newsletters.

Military Aviation Review -- a monthly subscriptions only magazine that produces there own British Armed Service Review and this is published each year within M.A.R Magazine. We also in part provide information to Mach III Publishing United Kingdom Air Arms Book as well as many more......

The East London Aviation Society Monthly Newsletter which is produced so you can follow and gain knowledge of types either changing location, being withdrawn from use or being stored it is brought to you by the Westrowop's Team.

We are also very lucky and extremely grateful for having the help and support of members from the UK Serial's Resource Centre.
